KORZO
This pleasant, plane-tree-lined pedestrian walkway starts at Place d'Espagne and runs for 300 meters alongside Parc Zrinjevac.
The korzo ("corso" in Italian, "cours" in French) is a 300 m-long avenue that starts at the Place d'Espagne and runs alongside the Zrinjevac park. Lined with plane trees, it's a popular place to stroll at the end of the day. It was created in 1897 and named in honor of Princess Stéphanie of Belgium, then widow of Prince Rodolphe of Austria. The korzo ends at Rondo, a traffic circle dominated by the Kosača cultural center (1960). From here, you can reach the Partisan Cemetery (600 m to the west) or Marie-Mère-de-l'Église Cathedral (500 m to the southwest).
