Remains of a temple in the form of a strange cubic structure covered by a glass roof, used for Zoroastrian worship.
The site deserves a visit more for what it represents than for the visit itself. It was frequented by the faithful until the beginning of the last century. The old town still preserves the remains of a temple housing the Zoroastrian cult, practised before the arrival of Christianity in Georgia in the 4th century. In the narrow street going down the south side of Bethlehem, on the right, there is a strange cubic structure covered with a glass roof: it is an Atechgah,. The present brick structure was erected in the 17th century around the Temple of Fire.
