The Kvemo Betlemi church, set almost back against the mountain, has a certain timeless allure.
Leaning or almost leaning against the mountain, the Kvemo Betlemi church (Bethlehem from below) has a certain timeless allure. The building heralds the beginning of the Kldisoubani hill district of Bethlehem. Kvémo Bétlémi was originally an Armenian monastery, Sourp Stépanos (Saint Stephen), founded in the 18th century by Armenians emigrating from Persia. In 1988, the church came under Orthodox administration and was renamed "Bethlehem from Below".
Then climb the stairs leading to the foot of the Mother Georgia statue, which offers beautiful views.
