The famous Bratsk hydroelectric power plant is located 35 km northwest of the centre. Its power is 4,500 mW. The annual production is 23 billion kW. If you are interested in the history of the plant's construction and the current life of the gigantic industrial complex built around it, you can visit its museum. On the ridge passes the Taïchet - Lena railway line, the first section of the BAM (Baïkal - Amour railway line); below it passes a motorway.
