Travel Guide Ust-Pit (Усть-Пит)

It is a small site inhabited by hunters, fishermen and livestock breeders. When it is fine, boats organise an ecological descent from the river, and visitors are invited to stroll along the pedestrian paths, under the pines and the birch. 3 km from the village, the Bolshoi Pit (Grand Pit), 415 km long, flows into the Yenisey. People call it the mad river because, in summer, without any forecast, its level rises or descends with surprising speed. Folle Pit is the only way to transport goods to the north of the Yenisey. The surrounding area is rich in bauxite, coal, gold, iron ore and stibine.
