Cathedral with a gothic portal, also known for the Festas da Senhora da Agonia.
This cathedral is the most interesting religious building in the city. Built in the 15th century, it has a gothic portal with a large rose window that you can admire. Two Romanesque towers frame it with their battlements. A polychrome wood from the 16th century represents the baptism of Christ. The cathedral of Viana do Castelo is also known for the Festas da Senhora da Agonia. A must on your list of monuments to visit when in Viana do Castelo, especially as it is the largest cathedral in the district.
