One of the biggest popular festivals in Portugal. Direction Viana do Castelo the week of August.

The festival of Nossa Senhora da Agonia is one of the largest popular festivals in Portugal. This is a pilgrimage to the chapel of Our Lady of Agony (Campo de Agonia), in Viana do Castelo, accompanied by craft fairs, folklore parades, splendid costumes, bullfights (controversial). All sprinkled with the magic of a splendid "aquatic" firework display. Not to mention the "Gigantones", these great fun guys! A beautiful event.

The largest traditional festival country which is held in August during 1 week around the 20, this day is the public holiday granted by the mayor of the city.
