Tibães Tibetan Monastery, one of Portugal's most beautiful monasteries, was built on the site of an ancient Roman city amid 40 hectares of greenery. The current building dates from the 17th century, and features Baroque decoration and four cloisters. During your visit (self-guided, with audioguide or guided), you'll see altarpieces, an18th-century organ, azulejos... A majesty that would have influenced the development of art in this period.
