Probably the most beautiful and largest square in the city, well in the old Maastricht. The Vrijthof is the starting point for many walks. It has many terraces with cafes. It's here that the darling of the country, André Rieu, gives every year concerts events in total osmosis with the city where he was born. Let us point out the museum of the Photo, the two twin churches Saint-Servais and Saint-Jean. Do not miss the superb and photogenic bandstand. A typical and iconic address in Maastricht.

Cœur incontournable de la vielle ville, cette grande place est bordée à l'ouest par deux églises dont la fameuse basilique St Servais (voir le portail sud de celle-ci) et à l'est par une succession de restaurants et de brasseries aux terrasses accueillantes et chauffées hors saison. Ce ne sont pas les lieux les plus typiques de la ville, mais dans l'ensemble service et plats sont convenables.
