Here's one of our favorite Maastricht addresses! The name of this restaurant ("chic" in French) is misleading, as the atmosphere is rather relaxed. Open since 1982, Sjiek offers brasserie-style cuisine, but much more than that. The menu features local produce. Reservations are not allowed, so you wait for a table to become available by leaning against the large block in the dining room. The terrace is very pleasant. The King and Queen once ate a local meat specialty here during a visit to Maastricht.
