The real exotic cuisine in the Netherlands is that of Indonesia. During a stay in Utrecht, you can get to know it by eating at Selamat Makan. It's an authentic Indonesian restaurant in the center of Utrecht that offers good rijstafel and a wide selection of dishes for vegetarians. The recently renovated setting is a bit too neutral for our taste but the food is good. Get good advice on flavors and spices to avoid any unpleasant surprises. This cuisine will also appeal to vegetarians.
