Discovery of the zoo, one of the most modern in Europe, with special programs for children
You will be able to discover this zoo which claims to be, and is, one of the most modern in Europe and welcomes each year about 1.5 million visitors. Animals from all five continents live in vast artificial spaces inspired by their natural environment (tropical forests, swamps, steppes, caves...). You can observe all kinds of pachyderms, mammals and monkeys, as well as the rarest specimens of birds, reptiles, insects and fish. A tower equipped with a transparent elevator allows you to rise to more than 50 meters to discover a superb overview of the zoo and its occupants. The oceanium, the tropical aquarium, is very impressive and you should linger in the magnificent shark tunnel! This zoo is distinguished by its impeccable cleanliness, its many attractions that change frequently and its attention to detail in the presentation of the various areas. Special programs for children are available and it is also possible and desirable to book a guided tour in French as the explanations are only available in Dutch and sometimes in English. These guided tours are given by enthusiastic volunteers and a symbolic contribution is asked for the various projects in which the zoo is involved. Reservations should be made as far in advance as possible. Amazonica is a superb tropical butterfly pavilion to be discovered without delay. Restaurants and cafes are available on site.
