This vast musical complex, home of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, hosts numerous concerts of classical, modern and world music. A must-see address. De Doelen, with more than 600 concerts per year, is the second largest concert hall just behind the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam but ahead of the Tivoli Utrecht. The complex has four different halls. The hall has been in existence since the 19th century, but the current building on its site was opened in 1966. De Doelen is distinguished by its excellent acoustics.
