Van Stapele specializes in a recipe mastered to perfection: the chocolate chip cookie. Manager Vera van Stapele has found the golden formula, and her concept has been a resounding success for several years. The cookies aren't cheap, but they're so good, we're tempted! Beware, the cookies are regularly sold out by 4pm, often earlier. There's always a little surprise for the kids.

Wolf is a double address in the 9 straatjes district, the bakery-pastry shop and the café-restaurant. We visited the bakery and tasted its excellent products. The sandwiches are generous and filling. The vegetarian beet and cheese sandwich is a real delight. The cheese croissant is also excellent. The cakes are also excellent. The bread is firm and heavy, but very soft. The uncluttered decor is the work of Anne Claus Interiors. We love the atmosphere and the view of the ovens. Don't miss the adjoining café.
