Ceremony commemorating the largest general strike against German occupation and Jewish segregation in the capital.

This two-day general strike was organised by the Dutch Communist Party. It was a mass protest against the segregation of the Jewish population and was the largest demonstration against the German occupation. It took place on February 25, 1941, and was broken violently by the Germans (9 dead and 24 seriously wounded). The ceremony took place around the statue of the Docker, next to the unmistakable Portuguese synagogue.
