A natural area of over 700 hectares where you'll come across zebras and all sorts of antelopes. You can also see some of the buildings associated with the Anglo-Boer war. Lancaster Hill was the scene of a battle on December 12, 1900. The Vryheid garrison, the2nd Royal Lancaster Regiment, was attacked by a force of around 1,200 Boers. After a day of fighting, the attackers were forced to withdraw without being able to seize the summit.
