The adventure of this restaurant began in the 2000s, it was one of the best restaurants in Swellendam. The chefs, Nina and Salvatore, aim to make La Sosta an even better restaurant than it was. The three menus, one meat-based, one fish-based and one vegetarian, change with the seasons. To complete these dishes, the establishment offers a complete wine list based on local selections, but also imported wines from Italy that go perfectly with dishes with Italian flavours.

This is a fine restaurant in Swellendam. The owner and chef is French, his wife is South African and works in the dining room; together, they make an excellent tandem. The food is excellent and authentic, using local produce. A very good place to try springbok, or perhaps try for the first time the excellent ostrich or kudu meat. The service is very attentive. The room is picturesque and cosy, reminiscent of a Norman inn with its old-fashioned decor.

Ikigai means a reason to be. It is a Japanese concept, a haven of peace in a pastel and wooded atmosphere. You place your order at the bar and you can choose to sit on the small terrace at the front of the establishment or in the cosy room. On the menu: very good breakfasts, perfectly cooked eggs Benedict, healthy sandwiches, you choose your bread, lattes for a gentle wake-up call and delicious milkshakes. The waitresses are sweet and smiling, we feel good in this cocoon of quietness.

In this beautiful house, in a subdued atmosphere, with candlelight on each table, Field And Fork offers you a menu composed of three dishes and a la carte dishes. Here, the menu changes every month, according to the season's products. The combinations are refined and original. The chef dares a starter with strawberries, Roquefort cheese, parma ham and caramelized almonds... It's delicious! The establishment is located in the heart of the city, right next to the tourist office. An excellent South African cuisine, as they know how to do so well.
