This is Uncle Samie's Store, one of Stellenbosch's oldest stores, dating back to the early 20th century. Samuel Hannes Volsteedt, the son of farmers, went into business when he sold the family farm. Business went very well for him, until 1944, the year of his death. Taken over by his nephew, and today his descendants, the store invites you to take a trip back in time through old objects, from vinyl records to old radios, from leather shoes to vintage hats. There's also a grocery corner, full of local produce.
