Set in time, the upper town boasts some remarkable buildings: the Anglican Church with its century-old organ, the Royal Liquor Store, the Royal Hotel with its pub, housed in the former chapel of a Cape Town girls' school, brought in parts by boat via Delagoa Bay, the Drezden Shop and the House Museum, a reconstruction of a 1930s shop and a Victorian house of little interest. On Main Street you will find the Information Centre, near the museums, where tickets for the old houses can be purchased.

Pour le coup d'oeil
Assez déçu par ce petit village effectivement figé à une autre époque, mais complétement dénué de la moindre vie. Il vaut quand même la peine de s'y arrêter pour cette atmosphère désuète de ville fantome et pour l'architecture de quelques édifices, mais c'est globalement un peu déprimant.

Si la ville basse se veut "commerciale", la ville haute est celle des habitations, des signes qui se baladent sur les fils électriques, de l'hôtel... Ne manquez pas le passage au pub
