The largest island, with Bai Tru beach in the north. "Hon Tre" means "island of bamboo". Hon Tre is home to the Vinpearl tourist complex where resorts, amusement parks and marine aquarium are located. Since 2007, a cable car line connects Nha Trang to Hon Tre. 47 cabins can transport 1,000 people/hour. The construction of this line is a technological feat achieved by a French company. It was necessary to build foundations in the open sea for the pylons in an area subject to seismic risks.
