The province of Cuenca, located in the autonomous community of Castilla-La Mancha in Spain, is home to the city of Cuenca. This medieval city is considered one of the most beautiful in Spain and has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Cuenca is strategically located for communication between northern and southern Spain, being bordered by the provinces of Madrid, Castilla La Mancha, Valencia and Teruel. The city is divided into two distinct zones: the old town, perched on a rocky hill bordered by the gorges of the Júcar river to the north and the Huécar to the south, and the new town to the west and south of the old town. Cuenca offers a picturesque landscape with its hanging houses, castles and cathedral. Visitors can also explore the Ciudad Encantada, a unique natural site with strange rock formations. The city also boasts a university, the University of Castilla-La Mancha, and a variety of nearby tourist destinations, such as Alarcón, Belmonte and Mota del Cuervo.
