15 km west of Gyula by Highway 44. The Hungarian capital of the sausage is a pleasant but calm city, known as it will be, for its charcuterie, but also for its Slovak remains (a large Slovak population there has been implanted since the th century), its mill (the first of the country to function in steam) and its churches. Its town centre is typical of the alföld with wide avenues surrounded by gardens. The museum, located in the Manoir manor house dating back to 1849, presents a collection of paintings by Mihály Munkácsy (1844-1900), one of the most important figures of Hungarian paintings.
