A must-see museum dedicated to the archaeological finds, folk art and painters of the Szolnok colony.
The museum is housed in an elegant neoclassical building dating from 1860. It houses the county's most important archaeological, ethnographic, historical and artistic collections. Permanent exhibits include artefacts from excavations, folk art (including a precious vermeil plaque) and works by the Szolnok artists' colony founded in 1902. It also offers temporary exhibitions and hosts open-air cultural events in summer.
