Named after a Hungarian general who was an ally of Garibaldi in Italy, this museum is a major cultural center in Baja. Founded between the wars on the initiative of art collector Oltványi Imre, it features two main exhibitions. The first traces the history of Baja and its region, while the second displays a rich ethnographic collection illustrating the diversity of communities that have inhabited the town over the centuries. The museum also houses works of modern art, including the Nagy István collection, which has made a major contribution to its reputation.
