MUSEUM OF CHRISTIAN ART (KERESZTÉNY MÚZEUM)

This museum, one of the most important in Hungary, exhibits panels painted in the Gothic and Renaissance styles, and by the great masters of the Italian Renaissance. The collection was assembled by Archbishop János Simor from the treasures of his diocese. A remarkable collection of the Christian Museum in the Primate's Palace which gives an insight into Italian and Hungarian painting in the Middle Ages. The Easter Sepulchre is a Hungarian masterpiece of woodcarving.
