SALAMON-TORONY TOWER
Impressive hexagonal watchtower in the lower town of Visegrád. Visits only in season.
Located in the lower town, this impressive hexagonal watchtower is over 30 m high and its walls are over 7 m wide. It can only be visited in season. Damaged by the Ottoman occupiers, the tower was redesigned by the famous Frigyes Schulek, one of Budapest's most prominent architects in the late 19th century. He eventually abandoned the project due to lack of funds. The operation of the tower is attached to the Royal Palace of Visegrád.
