Siquirres is a residential town in the middle of the plains and banana fields. At the crossroads of highways 32 and 10, it is a crossroads town that had its heyday at the time of its railway station, which closed in 1991. Siquirres has little interest in itself, but you can stop there to withdraw money if you go to Parismina (no ATMs there). If you have some time, visit the finca Las Tilapias a few kilometers away. This is where the famous crocodile Pocho lived, domesticated by a man who made him his friend. He died of old age in 2011; this strange relationship was the subject of a documentary.
