Travel Guide Pingxiang 凭祥

Pingxiang is the last Chinese city before the border with Vietnam, so it often serves as a stopover for travelers to or from Vietnam. The hundred thousand inhabitants of Pingxiang are composed mostly of Zhuang. But there are also many Vietnamese, with their straw hats, who come to sell specialties from their country and enjoy the border trade. The customs port, dubbed "the friendship pass" (the "friendship", youyiguan), is located in the south of the city. Partly destroyed during the Sino-Vietnamese war in 1979, this passage was rebuilt and opened again in the 1990 s.It is easy to find cheap hotels in the city, as well as many banks and exchange bureaus. Several buses and trains provide connections between Pingxiang and Nanning. If Pingxiang does not have a special tourist interest, we advise you to discover the surroundings of the city, such as the sites around the Zuo River and the fabulous Detian Falls.
