THE SIGNAL STATION RESTAURANT
Read moreThis small restaurant established on one of the most beautiful viewpoints of Hobart's suburbs, Mount Nelson, is in fact the former home of the chief signalman of the nearby Mount Nelson Signal Station. It dates back to 1897. The beautifully prepared dishes are served in the dining room or on the terrace, with a 180-degree view of the bay. When visiting the site outside of lunchtime, it's a good place to stop for coffee, ice cream or pastries.
MALDINI ITALIAN CAFE & RESTAURANT
Read moreThis Italian restaurant on the corner of Salamanca Place is one of Hobart's best. Spaghetti, risotto, penne, gnocchi are on the menu... but no pizza. A way to distinguish itself from other more traditional restaurants. Meat and fish are however part of the menu. Tiramisu, peach pie, panna cotta and Italian cheeses are announced among the sweets at the end of the meal. Not to mention the espresso! All of this can be enjoyed in an air-conditioned room or on the terrace.
THE BRICK FACTORY
Read moreThis is one of the lively, affordable restaurants in the inner courtyard of Salamanca Place. We particularly appreciate the atmosphere at weekends, when musicians take their places in the back of the room and the evening gradually comes to life. The menu remains classic (pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, salads...), with some nice platters to share with friends and a few original dishes (chicken Parmigiana, lamb chops, salmon, Angus...). A place we can only recommend without hesitation.
