Things to see and do Barossa Valley

Not to be missed on the Sturt Highway that links Adelaide to the Riverland. Wolf Blass, the founder, chose a modern semi-circular architecture for the reception of the public and the sale and tasting of wines. Jacob's Creek Visitor Centre or the Penfolds Barossa Valley Winery and Cellar Door may have a little more charm, but for the wine, you can judge the difference, in moderation. There are some very good reds, whites and sparkling wines.

In the large Provenance building on the side of the road, Penfolds and Distilling Company are grouped together. Penfolds Barossa Valley Winery & Cellar Door, a leading wine producer, sells and tastes its wine and offers guided tours of its site. Also, the Distilling Company, in a cozy bar with copper stills, sells and tastes different kinds of gin. Remember to book at least 24 hours in advance.
