BOJANGLES

Australian restaurant €€
4.3/5
4 reviews

If you like the saloon atmosphere, here is a place not to miss. The decor is superb, the unique atmosphere, and especially go to the aquarium with the skeleton, little surprise… Peanut peanuts are free, and it is compulsory to throw the layers on the ground. You can eat beef from the buffalo, the slug, the emu, the crocodile and the kangaroo.

In a small alley off Todd Mall, Page, as it's called by locals, is a lively café that attracts a crowd. One of the best places in Alice Springs to have a coffee or a quick lunch while exploring the stores and aboriginal art galleries of Todd Mall. On the menu are fresh juices, original salads, great vegetarian dishes and burgers. Order outside, then enjoy either the air conditioning and cool decor inside, or the shade and green plants in the alley.

EPILOGUE LOUNGE

Restaurant €€

Right in the center of town, this is a great place to try during your visit to Alice Springs. The menu is Mexican and Spanish inspired, with good tapas. Perfect for a nice quiet brunch. Especially on Sunday mornings when the Todd Mall market fills the street. The place transforms in the evening, especially when local musicians or DJs perform (check Epilogue's Facebook page for the schedule). In high season, head up to the rooftop to indulge in the bar and dance floor under the stars!

HANUMAN

World cuisine restaurant €€

Surely the best table in Alice Springs that combines Malaysian, Thai and Indian flavors. Using local products as much as possible, Hanuman is the work of Jimmy Shu, a chef from Sri Lanka who arrived in Australia at the age of 21 with $50 in his pocket. He was the star of the Taste of the Territory series, where he showcased the culinary diversity of the NT. Those who liked it can also dine at Hanuman in Darwin, which is actually the first restaurant Jimmy Shu launched in 1992. The "Thai crispy whole fish" is delicious!

CASA NOSTRA

Italian restaurant and pizzeria €€

For those who are in the mood for a good pizza after a desert crossing, Casa Nostra is a traditional Italian restaurant, with red and white checkered tablecloths and paintings and pictures of the country on the walls. Very popular with the locals, it is often quite crowded. They don't serve alcohol, so feel free to buy your own (small IGA supermarket nearby). The vanilla slice, famous in the whole Red Centre, will punctuate your dinner, don't hesitate to order it at the beginning of the meal, there is not enough for everyone.
