Less than 3 hours' drive from Brisbane, the park protects the world's largest bunya pine forest. Some of the trees are over 500 years old. Bunya nut is a popular nut served in some local restaurants. A true hiker's paradise, the park is criss-crossed by 35 km of trails that take you past waterfalls and torrents. The highest peaks rise to 1,100 m and offer fantastic panoramic views. There are three campsites in the park: Dandabah, Westcott and Burton's Well, all with sanitary facilities and picnic tables. Camping permits are required. Please book in advance.
