CONCHA BEACH

With 130 plant species and rare seabird species such as the silver gull (Larus argentatus) its ecosystem is very rich and is under the protection of the Corralejo Dunes Natural Park. Its seabed is prized by divers who have come to discover its many species, which can also be discovered via boats equipped with glass hulls. Discovered in 2012, an archaeological site there bears witness to the existence of a significant Roman site whose presence, at least seasonally, is thought to be due to the search for purple from marine molluscs.
