Main museum in a stately house of Renaissance style exhibiting a large collection of maps of the Canary Islands
The main museum at La Laguna is located in the old town, sheltered from the old walls of the Casa Lercaro, a Renaissance style house built in 1593 for a family of merchants from Genoa arrived just after conquest. The facade of the stone house bears the coat of arms of its first owner. While the Archaeological Museum of Santa Cruz is dedicated to the Guanches, the collections of the La Laguna Museum explore the life of Tenerife from the colonial period of conquest to the present day. See, the large map collection of the Canary islands, some dating back to the th century.

Casa de Lercaro (not Lercano!), old palace of 17 th, accessed in a slope on a slope (Colegio 7). Get a coffee. Beautiful interior and tree terrace overlooking an old mill (visible wheel wheel downstairs). Do not confuse with the house of balconies or the carpets museum, close on San Francisco street.
