Department stores Prague

Prague's newest shopping mall opened its doors opposite the Municipal House on Republic Square. It's not the biggest in town (it doesn't have its own multiplex!), but it does boast a large number of fashion boutiques and a very large bookshop, well-stocked with books on Prague and the Czech Republic in several languages. The entire top floor is taken up by fast-food restaurants. The Albert supermarket is a good opportunity in the city center for those who do their own cooking.

General food. Ideal if you're renting and do your own cooking. Albert stores are usually found in the basement of all Prague's major shopping centers (Palladium, Flora, Novy Smich...).

There's no change of scenery to be expected here in this huge, practically new shopping center with its 2-storey Tesco (open daily from 7 a.m. to midnight), countless well-known fashion boutiques, underground parking lot, escalators, multiplex cinema, food-center and more. All just 2 stations from downtown. There are also a number of souvenir shops where you can buy souvenirs at lower prices than in the city center, and a large bookshop where you can find books on Prague and the Czech Republic in several languages.
