It is a place of sad memory since it is here that the STB police (National Security, equivalent to the Russian KGB at the time of communism) had established its headquarters. It exhibits many buildings of Cubist influence, decorated with statues and reliefs evoking the trades of the earth and industry. But we barely notice it: the grayness of that sad time seems to have made the street dull forever. Even today, some Czechs still avoid borrowing it.
