Czechoslovak television was created in the early 1950s, but remained for some 40 years a simple propaganda relay. In the early 1990s, after the Velvet Revolution, Czech Television was created, which broadcast in parallel with its predecessor until the partition with Slovakia. It has three general-interest channels, a 24-hour news channel and a sports channel. But, due to a lack of resources, the programs do not shine by their genius.
