The path to the church surrounds you with serenity thanks to the dazzling whiteness of the walls, the luxuriant vegetation and the monastic silence. The monastery of Vrissi or Vrissiani is the largest monastery in Sifnos. Built in the 17th century, it now houses a museum of ecclesiastical and Byzantine art. You will see beautiful icons, precious manuscripts including a 1796 gospel and all kinds of reliquaries and liturgical vestments. The monastery is dedicated to the Virgin of Vrissi, the Virgin of the Source. Under the white dome, what a view!
