MONT PROFITIS ILIAS

From Ioulis, you are only 3 km from the top of Mount Profitis Ilias (of the prophet Elijah). With a little stamina and good shoes, it is possible to reach it on foot. A large part of the route follows the asphalt road. A stone staircase then leads to the top, from where one can enjoy a rather incredible panorama over the terraces of Messaria (in the north of the island), the green valleys of the center of the island and the arid hillsides of the ancient Karthea. A nice walk, with beautiful paths, and a nice detour to the church of Episkopí.
