Kymi is much more than just a small, fading seaside resort: this port on the west coast is your starting point for trips to Skyros and other Aegean islands. Boats leave from the village for the Sporades islands. The ancestors of the inhabitants of Chalcis, now mostly sailors, once founded a large number of colonies in Italy. You can enjoy beautiful walks to the monastery of Sotira, with its superb view of the sea, or to the village of Hili, with its houses partly carved out of the rock. And you'll always find a bit of peace and quiet and beaches with calm waters where children can swim.
