Perched at an altitude of 1,050 m, Château de Murol, founded in the 11th century, commanded key roads in the Auvergne. Spared by the English during the Hundred Years' War, it suffered from the plague. Guillaume II de Murol strengthened the fort in 1390 and documented his work in precious registers. Adapted militarily until the 17th century, it became a den of brigands, then a quarry. Classified as a historic monument in 1889, it now belongs to the commune of Murol. Animations and unique relics, such as the couleuvrine of François Ier d'Estaing, bring its history to life.

Gros + pour le spectacle équestre.
Petit - pour le nombre de personnes présentes dans le château, difficile de circuler, trop de bruit et impossible de prendre le temps de faire des photos.
Bien aménagé…! Pour information c’est ici qu’à été tourné la première saison de Kamelot!
Visite animée et ludique, parfaite pour petits et grands. Ambiance médiévale au top, on apprend en s’amusant. À ne pas manquer !
