A castle clinging to a rock, a residential site where you can discover its architecture and the couleuvrine bearing the coat of arms of François d'Estaing.
Clinging to its rocky outcrop since the 11th century, this fortified castle underwent a number of modifications to its walls and towers in the 16th century, before becoming a residential castle until the 19th century. Today, its remarkable architecture makes it an emblematic site. You'll discover the lifestyle of a 15th-century squire. The visit is enhanced by the presentation of the couleuvrine bearing the coat of arms of François I d'Estaing, dating from 1574. The days are punctuated by events such as equestrian jousting between Jehan de Murol and Draguinet de Lastic.

We opted for the day and night ticket. So, guided guided tour and fun in the morning, walk in the corners of the castle, view at 360 ° at the top… Super morning closed by a picnic with the sheep. We came back in the evening to attend the theatrical night-night tour. Great time also with a different tour of the day, comedy, tragedy and singing. Two very pleasant moments for one castle! (but the initial climb, so made twice in the sun, is hard!!!!!!!

Très ancien château auvergnat au riche passé enrichit de légendes. Il faut être en forme pour accéder à l'entrée. Plongée dans le temps avec le spectacle des chevaliers et l'accueil en ancien français. Cette visite vaut le détour pour petits et grands.

Il faut de bonnes jambes pour arriver jusqu’au château mais l’effort en vaut vraiment la chandelle. La vue est imprenable et c’est un voyage dans le moyen âge qui vous attend. Dommage que les visites guidées ne soient pas plus régulières en basse et moyenne saison.

Le chateau vaut le détour et reste l'un des endroits les mieux conservés des environs. En revanche, une animation ou une implication un peu plus importante du personnel pourrait rendre la visite plus attractive.
