VAROSI DISTRICT

A former Christian stronghold under Turkish occupation, the Varosi district was almost entirely destroyed during the Second World War by the Germans because it was home to a large number of resistance fighters. There are very good examples of architecture: the base of the houses is often made of stone and the façades are only pierced by a few windows.
