OUSIES

Despite its rather pretentious name, which means "substances" (Ουσιες), this ouzerie serves cheap and rather good food in a good-natured atmosphere: salads, fried zucchini, fried squid, fried feta (and good home fries too, by the way!), seafood risotto or pasta, grilled octopus, sesame-grilled vegetables, Smyrna dumplings... All accompanied by an ouzo or, to make it more local, a tsipouro or a red from Naoussa. The desserts, on the other hand, are nothing to write home about.
