Baroque church of the 17th century dedicated to St. Blaise, patron saint of Dubrovnik, with a model of the city above the altar.
This beautiful baroque church was designed and built by the Venetian architect Gropelli in 1715 on the model of the church of San Maurizio in the Serenissima. Although modest, it is one of the most important religious buildings in Dubrovnik. It is dedicated to St. Blaise, the Catholic patron saint of the city, who is celebrated every year with great pomp on February 3. Inside, above the altar, it holds a model of the city before the earthquake (1667). It is a precious testimony of an era of which we have few remains.
