Read moreFor fans of folk dances, this ensemble was founded in 1964 to promote Croatian dances and songs as well as traditional costumes. The linđo dance is the most popular in the Dubrovnik region and has been danced in the same way for over two hundred years. The dance is accompanied by the lijerica, an old three-stringed instrument native to southern Dalmatia. All year round, the musicians perform at home and abroad, and in summer, they welcome big names from the opera scene. The DSO offers several festivals, such as the Dubrovnik Musical Spring, the Tino Pattiera opera festival and the Stradun Classic chamber music festival. Concerts take place mainly at the Rector's Palace.
