Here you are in Meereen! The terraced architecture of the first town of which Daenerys became queen is easily recognizable here. Note that to access the fortress you have to pay 60 kn, which is not given as there is no real explanation or information about the shooting itself. The view is certainly impressive, but the fortress itself is rather dilapidated.
Beyond GOT. The fortress was built by the Hungarian-Croatian kings to defend the pass that separates the Kozjak and Mosor massifs from the invaders, especially the Turks. They came from the interior of the country to conquer the coast and the fortress was the scene of bloody confrontations. However, in the 16th century, the Ottoman army took it over, before being driven out in 1648 by a Venetian general. The French enlarged the fortress into a strategic stronghold. It was during the Second World War that the fortress of Klis was used for military purposes by the Italian and German armies. Finally, the flag of the Republic of Croatia has been flying over it since 1990.
