Restaurant in a historical setting a stone's throw from Plaça Reial, in Barri Gòti.
A restaurant dating back to 1835 is bound to have a story or two to tell! Los Caracoles is no exception: artists such as Lenny Kravitz and Robert de Niro, as well as some well-known industrialists, have passed through its doors. When it comes to food, it's hard not to recommend the entire menu! The snails that give the restaurant its name, the suckling pig, the paella and the Catalan cream all delight the clientele. We booked Insiders Travel tour of Los Caracoles and had a wonderful time with Michael as our guide. I doubt without the tour we would have understood the magnificent story of this longstanding family owned restaurant. We were fortunate to meet the 3rd. (?) generation owner and she was so fun to interact with. The stories of each of the individual dining rooms, the many photographs, and of course the food, makes this a worthwhile visit. The tour starts about 1 hour before opening so you have time to explore and learn the history.

We had a lovely evening in the restaurant. The ambience can't be beaten and the food was delicious. The service had forgotten us for a moment with the wine. When we mentioned this to him, he immediately apologized and served us a glass of wine on the house.

Locale caratteristico di Barcellona, da fuori sembra piccolino ma non lo è assolutamente, su più piani e si estende in lunghezza. Mangiato benissimo, calamari dal mare alla griglia, pollo arrosto con patate, gamberi all aglio e crema catalano. Tutto ottimo, vino così così a detta delle amiche (io non me ne intendo) ottimo servizio e allegro. Li consiglio
