Mount Mbeya, culminating at 2,834 m, offers fantastic landscapes.

Mount Mbeya (Mbeya peak) reaches 2,834m and is the second highest peak in this mountainous region, after Mount Rungwe (2,961m). Its proximity to Mbeya makes it one of the classic local excursions from the city. The mountain scenery is fantastic. The climb starts from the Lunji Farm car park and is easily completed in one day. To reach the car park, turn off at the T-junction 12km from Mbeya on the Tunduma road. There are multiple starting points, also through the village of Iziwa.
