The visit of the village is a good way to discover the local life by discussing with the small tradesmen, by visiting the school...

A visit to one of the three central villages (Kigomani, Matemwe or Kilimajuu) is a good way to get a feel for local life, as you stroll between the banco huts, discover the well where the women fetch water, chat with the small traders and visit the school. Remember to dress appropriately and take a real local guide, rather than a beach boy (a hustler not necessarily from the village), otherwise you'll encounter a certain hostility. If in doubt, Hodi Hodi offers this service in Kilimajuu, with information and friendly interaction.
