Gourmet cuisine by François Chalut in a bistro in Issoire.
The room is vast, with a mezzanine to accommodate more tables. However, you'll need to make a reservation, as the place is particularly popular at lunchtime and on weekend evenings. The welcome is warm, but the atmosphere can be a little noisy. Daily specials are hearty and served quickly. François Chalut, a well-known Auvergne chef, is in charge of the kitchen. His cuisine is simple but delicious. In the evenings and at weekends, he takes the time to come up with a new suggestion based on seasonal produce and his own tastes.

Reservations recommended. Menu: approx. €19. Lunch menu: €18. Wine by the glass. Weekends: chef's suggestion (Friday to Sunday evenings).
